St Joseph Prayer for Work: It’s simple to become complacent at work, to put in extra hours on the weekends, or to rely on our paychecks to support our “real” lives away from the office. However, work should never be a mindless slog, nor should it be isolated from other facets of our lives. Instead, it ought to be a loving act of devotion to God that honors our Creator.
Work is a sacred obligation that God has ordained; it is not a curse. Even in Paradise, where there was no suffering or sadness, our first parents worked joyously, cultivating and maintaining the planet. Our heavenly Father himself taught us how to work and rest.
The Protector of our Redeemer, St. Joseph, was a skilled craftsman who taught the young Jesus how to build things. St. Joseph shows us that serving Jesus and Mary in silence is the ultimate calling for a man. St. Joseph, our humble role model, taught us that working hard and sacrificing one’s self for others is the only true source of happiness.
So, this is a prayer to St. Joseph, pleading with him for a fruitful and holy working day. I’ve started saying that every day, and you’re welcome to too.

Who is St Joseph
St. Joseph, our Redeemer’s protector, was an expert craftsman who taught the young Jesus how to construct things. St. Joseph exemplifies the highest calling for a man, which is to serve Jesus and Mary in quiet. The only real way to find happiness is to work hard and put oneself out for others, as St. Joseph, our modest role model, taught us.
So, this is a prayer to St. Joseph asking him to grant us a productive and holy day at work. You are invited to join me in repeating that every day as I have begun to do.

The Church acknowledges that finding honorable employment that allows us to support ourselves is a righteous goal. We acknowledge that St. Joseph in particular is a wonderful example of holy work. He devoted a significant portion of his life to being a carpenter and instructing Jesus in the craft. On May 1, the feast day of St. Joseph the Worker, we commemorate this function of St. Joseph.

Many people suffer a lot as a result of losing their jobs, and they are in great need of assistance as they search for a new jobs.
Please bring our prayers for employment before God, and pray today especially for those who have been laid off from their jobs!

To you, O blessed Joseph (Ad te, beate Ioseph)
To you, O blessed Joseph, do we come in our afflictions, and having implored the help of your most holy Spouse, we confidently invoke your patronage also.
Through that charity which bound you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and through the paternal love with which you embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beg you graciously to regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ has purchased by his Blood, and with your power and strength to aid us in our necessities.
O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ; O most loving father, ward off from us every contagion of error and corrupting influence; O our most mighty protector, be kind to us and from heaven assist us in our struggle with the power of darkness.
As once you rescued the Child Jesus from deadly peril, so now protect God’s Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity; shield, too, each one of us by your constant protection, so that, supported by your example and your aid, we may be able to live piously, to die in holiness, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven.
