Knowing what to pray for or how to pray might be challenging when a loved one or close friend is nearing the end of their life.
How do you behave? A horrible sickness is causing the health of the person you love and care about to rapidly decline. It’s possible that their inside organs are progressively dying. or a machine is currently keeping your loved one alive.
Whatever the situation, you are split between not wanting them to pass away because you would miss them so much and knowing that they would be in a place of final healing by being in heaven when they die. You may experience some degree of emotional whiplash as your emotions fluctuate up and down like a roller coaster.
In these times, it can be beneficial to remind yourself of your loved one’s relationship with God. We are ultimately under God’s control. “If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord” (Romans 14.8, NIV).
But even so, queries come up practically every day.
Is it acceptable to pray for their demise? Is it a sign of a lack of faith if I ask for a peaceful death? Or am I wishing for it to happen out of compassion? These and other worries are understandable in this circumstance. I’ve discovered that asking God in prayer about these issues is preferable and more consoling. And never forget that God is with us at all times and in all places.

Lord Jesus, it seems that my (a family member) will soon pass away. Her immune system and the rest of her body can no longer tolerate the trauma she experienced. The surgeries provided some relief, but it appears that they did nothing more than postpone the death of (name), which will likely occur sooner rather than later.
Even speaking those words aloud in a prayer to you, Lord, is exceedingly challenging for me. She hasn’t even passed away yet, yet I already miss her. Since I am powerless to relieve her suffering or otherwise improve her condition, my heart is shattered for her. I’m praying right now because I can do that.
O God, heed my petition. Although I’m not sure I can actually say it, I know in my heart that she has no chance of surviving here any longer than by being wired up to tubes and machines. Please grant her a peaceful transition into your arms, Lord.
She will pass away here, but she will live on in you, and that, Lord, is the best place for her. I offer you my sincere prayer in faith and confidence in you, our God, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

His life on earth is coming to an end. Even though he is still here with us, I already miss him. But Lord, I humbly ask that you allow my closest friend to enter the realms of paradise in peace. You Shall Not Lie But Live
We must turn to God in those situations when we have given up hope and ask for redemption and a supernatural breakthrough. God has unlimited power and is not constrained by the findings of your doctor.
You can rely on God to heal your loved one if they suffer from one of the terminal diseases. We need to pray and have faith that God can still do the seemingly impossible for this reason. The truth is that as faith grows, fear vanishes. We will experience the strength of God’s healing touch if we can put our faith and trust in Him.
According to the book of Isaiah 38, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.’ Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, ‘Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.’ And Hezekiah wept bitterly.”
Look carefully at this verse. You must continue to put your faith in God even if a friend, sibling, or close relative is ill and on the verge of passing away. It can be a terminal illness like cancer, heart failure, or another.
But no matter what, we must have faith that God is able to deliver and save us. God’s envoy told Hezekiah, “You will not recover,” but that didn’t stop him from praying. In the end, God kept his promise and declared:
“Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.’”
As a result, we won’t settle with the present situation. We’ll arrive at the battleground and offer faith-based prayers. We shall fervently pray for divine intervention in your friend’s or family member’s life. We shall ask God to grant them recovery from their illness or ailment.
