Most dear Heavenly Father, as I endure critical surgery today, I entrust my physical body to You. Guide the surgeons’ hands as well. And now, as we wait for the results of the surgery, we feel called to reach back and seize every chance that has ever passed us by to walk beside Your Son in pursuit of Your purpose for our life. We entrust our life to You, Father. “Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me,” You promise. Bless the surgeons and medical personnel who will be operating on us. Be with them and give them the tools they need to be extensions of Your healing hand. Lord, stay with me even when I fall asleep from the pain medication. Assist me in sensing Your presence and remembering that You are always with me. Never leave. Always dependable. More than I can comprehend, you love me.
And now comes the most difficult part: truly putting my life in Your hands. For when our intentions for healing differ from Yours, we grow discouraged, and faith threatens to rip out of our hearts. Doubt can creep in between the seams in unforeseen times. Lord Jesus, strengthen us to remember You in those times. Your ways are not our ways, for only You can claim true love for us. Only You know what is perfect and just in our daily life. Our time here is limited, but our faith in You, Jesus, distinguishes us and promises us eternal life. Painless and peaceful.
Please assist us in maintaining that belief. To cling to You. Send Your Holy Spirit to inspire our hearts’ remembrance of Your precious words of promise as we walk this road of uncertainty. Please help us to remember and repeat the promises You have made to us via Your Word. Be with our families and friends while they fear and wonder what will happen. Fill their hearts with Your love and remind them that my life is in Your hands.
Father, let everyone who knows me see my peace in this process and know it comes from You. God, thank You for life. Bless and heal me today while I have surgery. I trust You… today and always… whether You bring me through these infirmities to restore me upright on this planet or take me through to You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Continue to be with her as she recovers from surgery, God. Allow her to feel Your love even more deeply by giving her a second chance at life. Allow her, Lord, to live her life for Your glory while also being a blessing to those she loves. All of this I pray in Your Name, Amen.
