Morning Prayer For Family: You’ve probably heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But I’m here to tell you that there’s something even more important than breakfast when it comes to starting your family’s day off right. It is a prayer.
We are the work of God. So, regardless of how much (or how little) thought we put into the fact that everything we have is due to God, it would behoove us all to establish and maintain a solid, genuine, consistent line of communication with him. That is, once again, prayer.

Why I Should Pray With My Family in the Morning
Praying together at any time of day is an excellent opportunity to set a good example and share the importance and practice of prayer with your family. This is an excellent opportunity for you to express your concerns to God while also allowing your children to observe and participate in the process.
Doing a morning prayer with your family also helps to focus your day on God and His ability to protect, keep, and watch over you and all of your concerns.
How to Pray as a Family in the Morning
There are numerous ways to pray as a family, and there is no right or wrong way to communicate with God. Praying at the breakfast table is a simple way to incorporate family prayer into your morning routine.
Consider the things that are pressing in the day, things that your family members may be concerned about. Consider the answers to prayer you’ve witnessed and remind yourself and your family of them.
Then, when you pray, go beyond just blessing the food and asking God for guidance for the day, as well as praying specifically for your needs. Thank Him for the answers He has already given.
Make this a family routine or habit, and include all family members in prayer time. If your children are too young to pray for themselves, pray for them using short or partial sentences and have them repeat the words. Create a family worship tradition to instill in your children the value of spending time with God each day.
Spend Time Praying with Your Family in the Morning
Take the time each morning to write down your specific needs or requests, as well as the answers to those requests, as you pray with your family. As you pray as a family, you will notice that God is answering your prayers. As you write down your responses, you are creating a log or memory of God’s care for your family.
While you will most likely need to insert your own specific circumstances, desires, and ‘items’ in each section, I want to encourage you to begin each day with a prayer similar to the one below.

May nothing separate me from You today, Lord. Teach me how to choose only Your path today, so that each step brings me closer to You. Help me to follow the Word rather than my emotions. Please assist me in keeping my heart pure and undivided. Keep me safe from my own rash thoughts, words, and actions. And keep me from becoming distracted by MY wants, desires, and ideas about how things should be. Assist me in seeing what comes my way as an opportunity… rather than a personal annoyance. Finally, assist me in resting in the truth of Psalm 86:13, ‘Great is your love toward me.’ You can already see where I will fall short and make mistakes.
But for the time being, I consciously tuck Your absolute love for me into the deepest part of my heart. I understand that Your love for me is not contingent on my performance. You adore me flaws and all. That’s incredible. But what amazes me the most is that the Savior of the world would want to spend a few minutes with me this morning. Lord, help me to remember what a privilege it is to sit with You in this way. Amen.
Daily Prayer for Thanksgiving
Thank you, God. Thank you for your incredible power and work in our lives, for your goodness and blessings over us. Thank you for your wonderful love and concern. Thank you for your sacrifice in order for us to have freedom and life. Forgive us for not thanking you enough for who you are, what you do, and what you’ve given. Help us to refocus our eyes and hearts on you. Fill us with your peace and joy as you renew our spirits. We adore you and need you today and every day. Dear God, help us to recognize you above all else at the start of each day. Enlighten our hearts’ eyes so that we can see you and recognize how you are at work in our lives. Give us the wisdom to make the best decisions, and fill us with a desire to seek you above all else in this world. Allow your Spirit and power to breathe in and through us once more, fresh and new. Thank you for being greater than anything we may face today. Thank you for being with us, and for your joy, that is never dependent on our circumstances but is our true and lasting strength no matter what we face.

Summary
Saying even a short prayer at the start of the day is so important, no matter where you are in life, what your struggles are, or whether you’re on the upside or downside of the wheel. It’s even better to start the day with your family.
Saying brief morning prayers for and with your family does not have to consume your entire morning. Close your eyes and engage your family members to talk to God and lift up your concerns during your morning tea or coffee—or even over breakfast.
