Archangel Michael in The Bible
The name Michael appears five times in the Bible.
- St. Michael is mentioned in the Book of Daniel after Prophet Daniel had a vision following his fasting period. According to Daniel 12:13-31, he saw an angel who identified Michael as Israel’s protector, and Daniel receives a message that Michael will appear during the “time of the end” (Daniel 12:1).
- Michael is mentioned in the Book of Revelation in the New Testament as defeating Satan and casting him to earth with other fallen angels (Revelation 12:7-9).
- St. Michael is referred to as Archangel in the Epistle of Jude (Jude 1:9).
- In addition, the Archangel Michael is mentioned in Daniel 10:21 and 10:13.

be our shield against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May the Lord rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do You, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the grace of God, cast into hell
Satan and all the evil spirits
