Welcome to another episode of our daily bible study, today’s episode is titled, I don’t care attitude is a bad attitude. you can watch the video below.
In the previous episode of our daily bible study, we learned the message titled, be mindful of whom you elect or select as a leader.
We saw that, in order to ensure fairness and justice amongst one another in Israel, God gave the Israelites laws they will follow to ensure that everyone is treated justly and fairly. For some of these laws to be executed appropriately, judges need to be involved. The judges judge on complex cases, and their judgement is final. As a matter of fact, God made it a law that whatever judgement the judges have given must be accepted. At the same time, he warned that the people that should be selected as judges, should be people who merit to be judges. They should have fear of the Lord, be honest, be respectable, etc.; there is a lot of criteria to becoming a judge in Israel.
From here, we can learn that, God wants us to be mindful while selecting leaders. This is because, the success and progress of a nation depends a lot on the type of leaders it has. Good leaders ensure that the system is in order while bad leaders mess up the system. The lesson from here is that, whenever you are putting people in authority, make sure you either select or elect capable people. Be mindful of whom you elect or select as a leader, be mindful of whom you give responsibility in anything you do.
If you have not watched that video, it is in the playlist, you can watch it after watching today’s episode.
In today’s episode, we will discuss the message titled, I don’t care attitude is a bad attitude.
Exodus chapter 22 from verse 7 to 13 discusses rules and laws pertaining to social responsibility, it discusses how to handle civil matters that has to do with a person keeping an item with another person, and what should be done if the said item was stolen, or what should be done if the item was an animal, whether it died or was stolen. There is a lot of information in that passage, but the point we want to hammer on is, taking responsibility. Some people are fond of exhibiting nonchalant attitude towards things put under their care. This is a very bad attitude. We have to learn how to take responsibility of whatever that is under our care. It is not uncommon to see people that accept to safekeep an item for a friend, only for them to carelessly misplace they item, and when you ask them, they try to shift the blame or pick offence. This is a very bad attitude. “I don’t care attitude is a very bad attitude”, and if you indulge in such, endeavor to desist from it, because, it does no good to anyone. Today’s daily bible nugget is a message of admonition. Always take responsibility of what is put into your care. Learn to take responsibility and you will not regret anything.
May God give us the grace and strength to do what is right at any moment in time. Amen.
