In the last episode of our daily bible study, we discussed the topic that says, call for support when necessary.

We learned from this last episode that, when the Amalekites attacked Israel, God commanded Israel to fight back. In that war, it happened that Moses had to raise his hands as the battle raged to enable the Israelites overpower the Amalekites.

At a point, Moses’ hands got weary, he was then given a chair to sit and Aaron his brother and Hur his nephew held his hands. Aaron and Hur supported Moses, to enable him hold on until the battle was over. From here, we learned that, no matter your status, at some point in your life, you will need support.

Whenever you feel like you can’t hold on alone, endeavor to call for support or assistance. At the same time, when people call for your support, if you can offer the required support, do not hesitate to do so.  However, never fail to call for support when you need it.

In today’s episode, we will discuss the topic that says, leverage any opportunity available. As the Israelites were in the desert, Moses’ father in-law Jethro visited them. Jethro saw how Moses was exhausting himself every day, by judging all the Israelites that had issues. He told Moses that if he should continue with doing the job all alone, he will wear out quick and die young.

He advised Moses to appoint wise elders of Israel that will assist him with the task of leading the people. Moses took this advice and did exactly as he was advised.

Today’s message is similar to that of yesterday. We can say that, Moses was advised by Jethro to call for support or leverage the opportunity he had. Always leverage any opportunity available for you. Do not always force yourself to do a thing. Learn to delegate certain less-critical tasks and focus on the more critical ones. Learn to leverage. Moses had too many wise elders around him, but it did not occur to him that he should use them.

Sometimes, we feel like people we may delegate to do certain tasks will not do the work exactly as we want them. That could happen, but we need to learn how to trust people. When you delegate a task to someone and they fail, give them another chance. Sometimes, the failure is necessary to learn.

Once again child of God, learn to leverage any opportunity that is available to you.

May God put the right people we can work with around us all the time. Amen.
